On Monday's episode of the Today show, the 34-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star sits down with Matt Lauer to promote her new selfie book Selfish. In a preview clip from the upcoming interview, Lauer grills Kim about her obsession with taking selfies.
"If you take such a large percentage of pictures of yourself, it does open this whole line of questioning as to, ‘Are you self-obsessed? Are you an incredibly vain person and have you always been that way?'" the 57-year-old asks.
"I can understand how someone would say that you must be really vain if you're taking selfies all day long or wanting photos of yourself," Kim responds.
"It's a big ego thing," Lauer adds. "It is. To me, it's just really about capturing a memory," Kanye West's other half continues. "Is it a little ridiculous? Is it vain? Yes, but it's fun and you get to capture al of these memories at the same time."
Lauer also says, "You're naked a lot in here." "Not too naked," Kim replies.
Speaking of naked selfies, E! News reported last week that Selfish contains lots and lots of nude photos of Kim. The new book even includes her leaked naked photos, which hit the web back in September 2014.
Kim explained of why she chose to include the leaked pics, "I wasn't intending to put these in the book but saw them online during the iCloud hack. I'm not mad at them. Lol They are taken with a Blackberry and I don't have iCloud...It's all a mystery!"
