InstagramIt's hard to believe that Suri Cruise turned nine years old over the weekend—time flies, right?—and it sounds like her birthday celebration was one she won't soon forget.
E! News has learned that Katie Holmes threw her not-so-little one a party with about 15 pals at Gilded Lily in New York City.
The birthday girl and her several lucky guests snacked on burgers, fries and chicken fingers before enjoying Georgetown Cupcakes (Suri's favorite!) for dessert. Everyone got to choose from purple and pink cupcakes in an assortment of flavors—from vanilla to red velvet, yum!
"Suri and her friends ate, danced and ran around. She was just a normal kid having a good time with her friends," an insider told us, adding that Tom Cruise's daughter chose a blue party dress for the festivities.
And while there's no doubt that she's had plenty of extravagant parties in the past in her honor, we're told that her ninth birthday party was a relatively "low-key celebration."
Our source added that the get-together was "fun, but very down to earth."
Katie shared one snapshot from the birthday party, a candid pic of herself chowing down on one of the cupcake towers!
"This cupcake tower is going down," she captioned the hilarious shot. Go, Katie, go!
And considering how thought-out Suri's Christmas list was last year, we wonder if the adorable brunette was equally as ambitious for her birthday.
During a guest appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the actress dished that Suri was "very organized" and revealed that she asked for a puppy!
Hmmm…maybe she finally got her wish? Here's hoping!
