The will-they-won't-they saga of Cece (Hannah Simone) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) has become the surprise emotional center of New Girl ever since the will-they-won't-they saga of Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Nick (Jake Johnson) burned bright and fizzled out rapidly in seasons' past.

After hooking up in secret to dating in the open to Schmidt's massive screw-up when he tried to date two girls at once, breaking Cece's heart in the process, fans have wondered if this couple would ever get back together. And now, in season four, Cece realized she had feelings for her ex once more...just a little too late, as Schmidt found himself in a serious relationship with serious city councilwoman Fawn Moscato (Zoe Lister Jones).

Greenfield was excited when he found out the New Girl writers decided to revisit the Cece-Schmidt relationship again this season.

"I'm always open to it. I love that stuff," Greenfield tells E! News. "It's Schmidt's strongest relationship on the show and I'm excited for you guys to see what we have done with it for the end of the season. I finally feel like we move forward with it."

In fact, even though Schmidt currently has no idea that Cece is keeping all these feelings bottled up in secret, everything will come out in the open by the season finale.

"It all comes to a head with Fawn and Cece and Schmidt during this huge moment near the end of the season," Greenfield says. "It pays off really nicely."

So what exactly does this moment entail? Should fans be excited...or nervous? When asked to describe the season finale, these three words were all he would say:

"Schmidt. Cece. Reunion."

Reunion? We will take it!

"The moment with Cece and Schmidt will give the two of them some closure, and as a result, leads us into season five," Greenfield teases.

Speaking of season five (which is now officially happening!), sounds like New Girl is going to be Jess-less for a while to accommodate Deschanel's real-life pregnancy.

"We'll be doing a few episodes without Zooey," Greenfield says. "So the storyline for those episodes are really about her not being there."

Greenfield is excited about a few high-profile guests coming on for season five...though he couldn't reveal their names, he could give us a few clues about their identity.

"I can say a couple SNL vets are coming on the show that I'm really excited about," Greenfield says. "It's pretty cool. I always wanted these people to guest star, and now they are. I can't say who, though!"

Trulia

Greenfield is also excited to share his new partnership with Trulia, a destination for buyers and renters to find all of the info they need while searching for a place to live. Since he plays one of New Girl's beloved roommates in one of the coolest lofts on TV right now, he teamed up with Trulia to celebrate the launch of their new collaborative home search boards, and a specially created Buyers-Diggs home personality quiz.

Check out his results above, and a funny video of him trying to make real estate terminology sound sexy below...

New Girl airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on Fox.
