We may have missed out seeing Zac Efron go (completely) shirtless again, but the MTV Movie Awards weren't without its surprises.

For starters, Amy Schumer made a lot of dirty jokes. Like, a lot. They might not all have landed seamlessly with the audience, but we can at least say we were cracking up at E! HQ.

The rest of the night kind of seemed like The Shailene Woodley Show. After all, she took home what seemed like about 100 awards.

And then there were more dirty jokes. But since we can't repeat a lot of what was said, we'll just go right into recapping our best and worst moments from the show.

The Best

Amy Schumer: It was the comedian's first major hosting gig, and she brought a much-needed amount of sarcasm and crass to the show. From her twerk-tastic opening number to her willingness to make fun of, well, everybody (MTV included), it's safe to say she put in a pretty solid performance.

Channing Tatum's Mini-Striptease: Because you can't plug Magic Mike XXL without a little grooving and shaking. We present the video evidence:

Robert Downey, Jr. Accepted the Generation Award Like a Boss: How is it possible for one man to be so awesome and so humble at the same time? From his stroll onstage complete with token sunglasses to his moving speech (in which he told the audience to "keep your nose clean," among other things), the entire appearance was classic RDJ.

Zac Efron and Dave Franco: These two together are just hilarious, and it's made even better when they're accepting the award for Best Duo in some of their most ridiculous Neighbors costumes—complete with Jinxy Cat. And who could forget the little nip slip Zac gave the audience? Oh, and that crotch grab of course.

Kevin Hart's Speech: The normally outgoing comedian decided to take things down a notch for the Comedic Genius Award, and the result was totally touching. The fact that he brought his kids up onstage with him just made things even sweeter.

The Worst:

Zac Efron's First Appearance: If he's not taking his shirt off we're just not that interested. His contributions to tonight's show consisted of him standing onstage with his We Are Your Friends costar Emily Ratajkowski, presenting an award fully-clothed. Can you say anti-climactic?

Shailene Woodley's Trailblazer Speech: We love Shailene, but since she knew this award was happening couldn't she at least have jotted down some notes? Instead she took the stage to say a few touching words and then lost her train of thought. Awkward pauses aren't fun for anyone.

The Best Kiss Award: We're not upset about the winners, you see—Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort did a fine job locking lips in The Fault In Our Stars. Rather we're bummed that we didn't get a kiss reenactment. Ansel was unable to make the awards show, which left Shailene to accept the award alone and make a joke about kissing her brother. Womp womp.
