Thinking about cutting the cord on a bad relationship but can't muster those terrifying words, "We need to talk"? How about a little inspiration? Just keep the spitting to a minimum.

We've compiled a list of the top nine most epic movie breakups.

Among the movies who made our cut: Legally Blonde. Before she was winning major awards, including an Oscar, Reese Witherspoon won America's heart with her portrayal of seemingly clueless but charismatic sorority girl Elle Woods, who gets dumped by her boyfriend Warner because he decided he needed a classier girlfriend after graduation. She deals with the breakup...the way you may expect.

And she's so obsessed with him that she applies to try to get into the college he's going to attend, Harvard Law School...and gets accepted.

'Scuse you. So, accompanied by her Chihuahua, she high-tails it to the Ivy League and gets ridiculed by not looking the part. And for being really naive.

But she proves herself to be more than just your average Delta Nu. How? Life experience.

And somebody gets a taste of his own medicine.

And then there's Billy Zane, who, as we know, is a really cool dude. Except in Titanic, where he's a snobbish jerk. A snobbish jerk who isn't too thrilled about his fiancé Rose, played by Kate Winslet, getting all touchy-feely with some third class passenger named Jack who looks like Leonardo DiCaprio.

In fact, he's pretty peeved about it. And doesn't deal with breakups very well at all.

And Rose is all like, "Have you seen Leonardo DiCaprio?"

Another movie that made our list is The Wedding Singer, where Adam Sandler channels his post-breakup misery into his music.

His profession also allows him to meet a girl who's perfect for him, but sadly, her heart appears to belong to another.

No, no, not him.

So another breakup is needed. Luckily, there's another iconic Billy to help things along.
