Guess it's bye-bye long locks, hello chic shoulder-length crop for actress Hailee Steinfeld.
The 17-year-old stepped out last night at the premiere of The Homesman in Los Angeles with a significantly shorter new 'do. Letting her locks touch to just below her shoulders in loose waves, the star was all smiles in a violet, tea-length Monique Lhuillier frock and strappy Dior sandals.
Steinfeld isn't the only one getting friendlier with shorter locks in recent months: The long bob trend has been sweeping Hollywood, seen on stars Lauren Conrad, Vanessa Hudgens, Lily Allen and—albeit briefly—Beyoncé. While not quite lob-length yet, Steinfeld's cut is just below her shoulders—a stark departure for someone whose hair normally sweeps halfway down her back.
Hairstylist Mara Roszak posted a photo of her handiwork on Instagram, captioning the shot—which shows different angles of Hailee's new cut and Roszak holding a pair of scissors—with: "This beauty #chopchop."
Known for her fearless style and well-honed acting chops, Steinfeld has been a red carpet fixture since 2010, when she was nominated for an Oscar for her performance in True Grit. She stars alongside Hilary Swank in The Homesman, a Tommy Lee Jones-directed western that hits theaters on Nov. 14.
