It's getting a little colder as the holiday season approaches and, yes, we'll admit it: We're a bit coat-obsessed.

Yesterday we gave you all of our favorites in celeb coat trends—and today, we're looking to everyday fashionistas who take their chic winter style to the streets.

We poured over photos from this year's fashion weeks in London, New York, Paris and Milan for inspiration on how to keep cozy in covetable, cold-weather coats. While we won't be able to tell you exactly where each of these gals got their coats, capes and trenches, we hope these styles can serve as the ultimate sartorial inspiration.

It seems that pastel colors are having a comeback—a bright point for what may be a long winter season. Say goodbye to your black peacoat (we kid, let it stay in your closet for safekeeping) and oh yes to soft pinks, robin egg blue, lavender and clean creams. For those who steer toward bolder color palettes, we recommend styles in fuchsia, marigold or deep turquoise hues.

Let's place solid colors aside for a second: You really can't go wrong with a punchy pattern. We're dreaming of striped, spotted, floral and leopard styles for the season. (Throw some fringe on there while you're at it.)

We can't forget about furs, real or faux. Nothing will be more fun this season than sporting a funky, oversized fur coat in various hues and lengths.

And finally, don't just save these for a rainy day: The trenches you'll want this winter are wearable in wet weather or sunshine. We noticed styles in primary reds and military greens, as well as varying lengths and silhouettes.

What coats will you be wearing this winter?
