Rob Lowe's latest commercial for DirecTV has come under fire after viewers claim he's making fun of people with a shy bladder.

Two versions of the actor are featured in the 30-second clip: the suave Lowe that we've all come to know and love, and a dorky, awkward version.

In one scene, the alter ego is seen in a bathroom and tells the camera, "Fact: I can't go with other people in the room."

That didn't sit well with the International Paruresis Association…

In fact, the CEO, Steve Soifer says that the ads are poke fun at a very serious issue and are in poor taste.

"We don't mind if people have a little fun with it," he explained to Today. "It's a situation that a lot of people don't understand. In this particular case, the portrayal is making it look ridiculous, that this guy is a loser for having a problem."

Soifer continued, "What if he didn't have a leg or an arm? Are you going to make fun of them?"

Lowe got wind of Soifer's comments and took to Twitter to voice his own opinions on the matter.

After his son tweeted a link to the comments, Lowe wrote, "Son, there are those who really need to lighten up."

He then added, just to make sure everyone's on the same page, "For those wondering, my bladder is gregarious."

We weren't but thanks for sharing!
