LoadingThank you my beloved #MarkMahoney @shamrocksocialclub for this beautiful tattoo. You are my living Icon.
Jaime King's new tattoo doesn't just look cool—it has a very sweet meaning behind it!
The Hart of Dixie star, who debuted her new ink on Instagram Wednesday, revealed it's in honor of her and hubby Kyle Newman's 1-year-old son James Knight.
"I wanted a sword for every Knight night had their special one," she wrote, "[and] to represent 'the sword of truth, which I believe means to live [with] authenticity, cut through any illusions—to be a spiritual warrior."
"It says Knight in the blade," she went on. "There is a heart at the helm representing the loving trinity of myself, my husband & child."
The praying hands, Jaime explained, are "because we prayed for years to conceive a child," and the stars surrounding it "mean that he [son James Knight] came from the heavens, blessing us with a miracle."
Baby James is, indeed, his parents' miracle baby. In a heartfelt Instagram post this past summer, Jaime revealed that she'd struggled with infertility for years. She recalled enduring "8 yrs of pain and undiagnosed PCOS & Endometriosis. 9 doctors until Dr. Randy Harris diagnosed me & saved my life from a severe ectopic, 5 miscarriages, 5 rounds of IVF, 26 IUI's, most with no outcome, 4½ years of trying to conceive," before becoming pregnant with her son.
But her struggles didn't end there. Jaime experienced "26 hours of brutal labor, early delivery b/c of sudden preeclampsia, tearing and tearing after the stitches were in once I was home, milk supply issues, painful mastitis [and] uncontrollable crying while breast feeding."
She shared her story so other women enduring similar struggles would know #youarenotalone. This tough mama endured a lot, but she'd do it all again for baby James Knight. And now, she'll always have a reminder of his journey here an arm's length away!
