Oh, Swizz Beatz, when it comes to wives, you did it, you hit the jackpot!
Alicia Keys threw her husband a birthday party fit for a king and one that would make millions of '80s pop culture and Eddie Murphy fans shout, "Joy!" Its theme? Only one of the greatest onscreen love stories ever: The 1988 comedy Coming To America.
Swizz, who turns 36 on Saturday, was joined by his family and famous friends such as DMX and Sean Combs, aka Puff Daddy and formerly Diddy. Swizz, naturally, assumed the role of Prince Akeem and got to sit in a throne alongside his parents, who played the parts of King Jaffe Joffer and Queen Aoleon of Zamunda, of course.
And there was a rose bearer and a McDowell's parody gift and even dancers recreating Paula Abdul's iconic choreography. Keys, who is pregnant with her and Swizz's second child, joined them. The R&B star, a woman who arouses the hip-hop star's intellect as well as his loins, looked like vision of perfection and a true queen in her white, flowing gown.
Check out more photos and videos from the party, which Swizz shared on Instagram on Thursday and Friday:
