Happy birthday to One Direction singer Liam Payne!
The pop star is currently on a U.S. tour with his four bandmates, Harry Styles, 20, Louis Tomlinson, 22, Zayn Malik, 21, and Niall Horan, 20. The British and Irish group is set to perform in Chicago on Friday, Payne's 21st birthday.
The singer, who is from England, and Horan, who was born in Ireland, are helping to promote 1D's new fragrance You & I and recently talked to Cosmopolitan UK magazine about their favorite smells. They asked if there are certain scents that remind them of "home."
"Yeah, cow poo," Horan said.
"I was going to say the same. We both live close to the countryside," Payne said, adding that he lives near farms.
One Direction's current Where We Are tour ends in Miami on Oct. 5. In February, the group is set to begin a new tour and perform in Australia, Asia and South Africa.
"Just wanna say the biggest/fattest happy 21st birthday to my brother @fakeliampayne," Horan said on his Instagram page. "I love you bro and i can't wait to celebrate it with you! We have waited for this, since that first trip we ever made to America , please make use of it, coz I will if you dont! Love you brother have a great day."
Payne shared on his Twitter page a photo of his "ace" birthday gift from the group's record label, Simon Cowell's Syco Entertainment—a signed clapboard from the 2008 Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly movie Step Brothers. Cowell, by the way, smells like mint, Horan told Cosmopolitan UK.

And while there were no boats, no hoes and no Catalina Wine Mixer, Payne recently enjoyed a fun night out with his friends, including Malik. The two were spotted on Thursday sitting with a group of other people at the Underground nightclub in Chicago.
A photo One Direction hairstylist Lou Teasdale posted on Instagram on Friday showed the singer, who's now allowed to drink alcohol in the United States legally, dancing and shaking a beverage.
