Ed Sheeran Says Taylor Swift Is a "Middle-Aged Woman Trapped in a 24-Year-Old's Body"

"She hangs out with her cat and sews things," the singer-songwriter says

Taylor Swift may feel "22" at times, but according to Ed Sheeran, it's not a common occurrence.

In the MTV documentary 9 Days and Nights of Ed Sheeran, he revealed that Swift had gifted him with a Drake-lyric needlepoint. Naturally, the singer-songwriter framed the artwork and hung it on his wall.

Did Sheeran make her anything in return? "No," he tells Time, "but I'm not a very crafty sort of person."

Swift, meanwhile, is "very crafty." In fact, the handmade present wasn't at all atypical for Swift. "I know she's 24 but she's a sort of middle-aged woman trapped in a 24-year-old's body," Sheeran says. "She hangs out with her cat and sews things." (Last week, Swift adopted a second cat, named Olivia Benson.)

What about Sheeran? "My soul age differs from day to day," he says. "It can be 8 or 80." How so? "It just depends on what I'm doing," says the musician, who just dropped a new album, x. "If I'm working it's usually pretty spot-on for work, but if I'm with my friends and the clock's off, I'll go back to being young."
