Amanda Seyfried has a fabulous figure, but even she has a few body insecurities. The star of A Million Ways to Die in the West covers Elle U.K.'s June 2014 issue—baring her toned midriff in a bra top, no less—and speaks candidly about the constant pressure to look thin and beautiful in Hollywood.

Seyfried goes to the gym daily, she says, "but only for an hour." The movie star also watches what she eats and does "the occasional raw diet for a single week, just to cleanse." But make no mistake—Seyfried is no health freak. "Emotionally, I need sugar in my life," she reveals. "I like wine. And coffee."

Because of her job, Seyfried explains, "I'd be lying if I said I wasn't constantly aware of what I'm doing with my body. I don't have to look like a supermodel. I don't have to have those abs—the camera doesn't see that. But because we have all been designed to want these things, I'm a victim of this stuff, too." Luckily, the waif look is becoming a thing of the past. "Thank God for Kate Upton," the actress says. "She's a supermodel. She has curves. She's like the new image of beauty and thank god."

Like Upton, Seyfried has a large social media following. While some stars deny reading about themselves, she freely admits to it. "You can't take yourself too seriously if you don't wanna die," Seyfried says. "So yeah, sometimes I read the feed on Twitter where people are talking about me. I was scrolling one day, and there was something really sweet, like, 'Amanda heart heart' and a picture of me. And then there was, 'All movies starring Amanda Seyfried are definitely going to be awful.'"

Why would she risk reading something negative? "I want to see what people have posted," she says. "Like if I have a weird conversation with someone in the street and they take a picture of me, sometimes I want to see whether they put it online—it's stupid, I shouldn't really. I have a healthy curiosity."

Seyfried also opens up to Elle U.K. about her ex-boyfriend, Dominic Cooper, whom she met on the set of 2008's Mamma Mia! movie musical. "It was the most romantic thing ever. We had such an amazing experience, so special and separate from everything else that we'd experienced in life. A moment to remember," she recalls. Why did they break up? "I'm too uptight for him. Or he's too relaxed for me," Seyfried explains. "He's been with the same girl for ages. I hope they're happy."

She means it, too. After all, she too is currently seeing someone else. What makes her romance with Justin Long work? "I need someone who can make fun of the stick up my ass!" Seyfried says, laughing.

Sounds like she's doing a good enough job of that herself!

The full interview appears in the June issue of Elle UK, on sale now. It's also available as a digital edition.
