Well, well, well…look who FINALLY changed up her hairstyle! Ariana Grande hit Nickelodeon's 27th Annual Kids' Choice Awards orange carpet sans scrunchie, opting instead for stick straight locks. This is the first time we saw a photo of the pint-sized songstress and believed that she was actually 20-years-old!

While we totally get that Ariana was going for a more grown-up look (or age-appropriate, as the case may be), that heavy, thick black cat eye makeup weighed her lids down and made her eyes look tiny.We loved everything else about her makeup – the creamy pink lip and perfect skin – but we would have loved to see a pop of color with the eyeliner or at least a much thinner winged eye.

Try the Look: Apply a straightening balm or lotion that will protect tresses from heat and frizz, like Redken Align 12 Protecting Smoothing Lotion, to damp hair. Before even picking up a hairbrush, use your fingers and a blow dryer to get out a lot of your hair's moisture

Once hair is 75% dry, divide hair into sections and start blow drying section-by-section from roots to ends with a medium barrel round brush. Tip: Make sure that you point your hair dryer down to ensure the cuticle is sealed for maximum shine.

After hair has been blow-dried completely, divide into sections again. With a ceramic flat iron set to 350 degrees, run the flat iron down two-inch sections of hair from roots to ends. Tip: Never set your flat iron above 350 degrees or you risk damaging your hair.

To seal in shine and ensure that your ends don't look like a broom, apply a smoothing serum like Fudge Urban Iced Tropical Cocktail Miracle Ends. If the weather report threatens rain or you live in a humid climate, definitely spray hair with an anti-humidity hairspray like John Frieda Frizz Ease Moisture Barrier Firm Hold Hairspray.

As for the YouTube sensation's makeup, we would have definitely put her in a bright, fun and flattering eyeliner instead of the standard black. With Ariana's brown eyes and yellow dress, we would have loved to see her rocking a purple winged eye.

To get a purple winged eye, start by prepping eye area with primer or concealer. Next, cover the entire upper eye area with a cream-colored matte powder eye shadow. Then, apply a matte taupe eye shadow like Espadrilles from the Tarte Golden Days and Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Collector's Shadow Palette to the creases. This will make your eyes look larger and more awake.

After blending eye shadow, apply vivid purple liquid eyeliner like Lancôme Artliner 24H in Amethyst to the upper lash line, making the line thicker as you get to the outer corners. Once you reach the outer corners, flick the applicator upwards towards your temples.

Tip: If you tend to look like a Picasso after a few tries with the liquid eyeliner, keep a few Q-tips soaked in makeup remover handy and quickly clean up any blunders. Then, tap on concealer over any smears and reapply eye shadow. Voila! Perfection!

As for Ariana's new hair look, we're hoping that she had a ritualistic bonfire where she passionately threw her scrunchies into the fire, cursing their very existence.Who knows? Maybe this look is a sign of things to come for the singer and she's ready to start taking some red carpet risks like candy-colored eyeliner, orange statement lips and bright pink cheeks – just hopefully not all at the same time.
