The White House is really going to the dogs.
The first family has welcomed another pup into the fold, a year-old Portuguese Water Dog named Sunny that looks just like her big brother, Bo.
"Welcome to the family, Sunny," President Barack Obama tweeted Monday, along with a pic of the jet-black bundle of cuteness chilling on the South Lawn.
Sunny was born in June 2012 in Michigan and just arrived at her new home in Washington, D.C., today. And already she and Bo, who's the same breed, appear to be getting along famously!
The dogs that shred plush toys together apparently stay together.
According to the White House Blog, the Obamas named their new pet Sunny "because it fit her cheerful personality," and she's "full of energy and very affectionate."
Michelle Obama had told reporters in October that Bo, despite his very prominent role as first dog, wasn't getting enough canine interaction.
Well, the Obama administration can consider that problem solved—and in honor of their new addition, the family is making a donation to the Washington Humane Society.
