Bruce Willis must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed.
As he and costar Mary-Louise Parker talked with London radio station Magic 105.4FM while making the media rounds promoting Red 2, the star appeared to be in a surly mood, giving hostile answers to seemingly innocent questions.
When host Jamie Edwards quizzed the duo on their favorite place to film the globe-trotting action-comedy sequel and quipped that at "least it proves I've seen the film," Willis' sarcasm suddenly grew thick.
"Has any actor ever told you this, Jerry?" asked the 58-year-old thesp. "This part is not acting what we're doing right now. You might be, but we're just selling the film now. Sales. The fun part was making the movie."
"The fun part happened, yeah," added Parker.
When asked by the radio personality how Willis would sell him the film, Willis replied: "I wouldn't. I would slash my hooves."
After the actors made light of the giant microphones they were given to hold in their hands, Willis later seemed like he was having his teeth pulled when Edwards asked him about how to keep women happy, referencing a scene in the movie involving John Malkovich.
"That part's just a line in the movie," Bruce responded dryly.
At a later point when Edwards and Parker got to talking about driving cars, Willis couldn't help wishing he was somewhere else.
"I'm thinking about driving right now," he quipped. "I can hardly keep my mind on this interview."
OK, we get it. Willis hates doing press!
Red 2 reunites the Hollywood veteran with Parker, Malkovich and Dame Helen Mirren as a gang of retired C.I.A. agents who once again come together—this time to try and track down a missing portable nuclear device.
The first film based on the DC Comic book was a surprise hit, raking in almost $200 million at the worldwide box office, and the Dean Parisot-directed follow-up hopes to repeat that by adding franchise newcomers Catherine Zeta-Jones and Anthony Hopkins to the mix.
Red 2, however, may have an uphill battle after earning mixed reviews, and its opening weekend $19 million haul fell short of the original's $21 million opening tally.
