Though she may not have received an award, Hillary Clinton definitely walked off as a winner at last night's CFDA Awards in New York.
Amidst the gorgeous gowns and beautiful bling at one of fashion's biggest nights, the former secretary of state managed to make her go-to outfit—the pantsuit—a hot topic of conversation.
Clad in—what else?—a navy pantsuit by Oscar de la Renta, Clinton received a standing ovation when she took the stage to present Oscar de la Renta himself with the Eleanor Lambert Founder's Award, and managed to receive plenty of laughs when poking fun at her signature style.
"Now that I have some more time on my hands I am going to be pitching Andy and others on a new show for Bravo to sort of fill that gap that is so apparent to some of us," Clinton said, referring to the show's host, Andy Cohen. "We could call it Project Pantsuit."

But the former first lady had plenty more jokes, garnering even more chuckles as she continued her introduction by recalling the first time she met de la Renta at the Kennedy Center Honors back in 1993.
"So I reached out to shake Oscar's hand, and he looked me up and down, and he said, ‘That's one of my dresses,'"she reminisced. "‘I said, ‘Really?' I was then, as I am now, such a fashion icon myself."

She quickly followed her sarcastic comments by taking the time to reflect on what meeting de la Renta all those years ago meant to her.
"But it started a great friendship that has meant the world to me and to my family and we have spent time together, laughed together, worked together over these past 20 years," she gushed.
For his part, de la Renta seems to be as much a fan of Clinton as she is of him.
"She might not like me to say it, but I think she's going to be our next president," de la Renta said of Clinton.
And judging from applause he got, the CFDA crowd agreed with him!
