Red carpet prep starts long before fittings. For some stars, big nights such as the Met Gala mean kicking up their fitness and diet to an extreme level. Such was the case for Rachel Roy this year. The star opted for two unique ways to slim down and happily shared all the details with E!.

Do you have a special fitness routine to prep for the Met Gala?

Yes, it's such a funny story too! I happened to be surfing Instagram one night and I saw this woman who is maybe 45 or 47 and she has the most amazing body you've ever seen in your life! Her handle is like, ChickenTuna, or something hilarious like that. But she has this squat challenge in which every day you do a different number of squats. It's like a little calendar that she posts. Well, I decided to post it on my account and my followers started doing it with me! It started out as Met prep but now I'm hooked.

What about diet, any changes there?

I started drinking these green juices from Liquiteria, which is a delivery service here in New York. I either do green juices, a protein shake or a smoothie from them in the morning. Then I do this delicious kale salad with another green juice at lunch and finish with just a healthy dinner.

What does your pre-red-carpet beauty routine consist of?

I go to Tracie Martyn for facials and I really don't go enough! The last time I went was for the Oscars—actually, it was for the Vanity Fair afterparty. What I really love about Tracie is that if you stay faithful to her treatments and you make it part of your lifestyle, then you don't have to do anything medical to your face. What she does for me is a combo of light therapy and special serums.
