Rome's fall is Game of Thrones' gain!
Game of Thrones has finally cast the most-buzzed-about role in season three: Mance Rayder, the Wilding leader and the King Beyond the Wall.
Rome actor Ciarán Hinds has landed the highly coveted job, Entertainment Weekly reports.
Most recently seen on USA's Political Animals, Hinds will play Rayder, who has united the clans in the Far North so that they can attack The Wall. Though he's been mentioned on the show before, viewers have actually never seen Rayder, but learned Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was being taken to meet him in the season two finale.
One added perk of the job for Hinds? The show's primary production is based in his hometown of Belfast, Ireland!
Aside from playing Julius Caesar on Rome, Hinds has also appeared in movies such as John Carter, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and played Dumbledore's brother, Aberforth, in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2.
In July, the HBO hit series announced 14 new actors viewers will meet in season three.
