Actor suffers minor injuries while fleeing blaze, which totals his multimillion-dollar Malibu house

Nick Nolte is down and out in the Malibu hills.

The actor suffered minor injuries but a major loss today as a fire tore through his home, destroying much of the structure.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's officials said the 67-year-old actor suffered a small cut to his right hand as he broke a window to escape the conflagration.

The late-morning blaze was sparked by an apparent electrical malfunction, with damage estimated at $3.4 million.
