You'd think the first thing Andrew Garfield would want to keep from The Amazing Spider-Man set is one of his Spidey suits.

Sure, he'd like one, but what he's really after right now is…

Peter Parker's...skateboard?!

"I designed it," Garfield told me at the web-slinging reboot's Hollywood premiere. "It was my idea that Peter skateboarded and luckily [director] Marc Webb put it in the movie."

And it's not just any ole board. "It's got all my [scientific] equations on it," Garfield said. "I thought, He's a science wiz, so why not have him do work on the board and then scratch it out and then paint it over and then scratch it again?"

Meanwhile, Garfield says he didn't immediately notice chemistry with his movie turned real-life girlfriend Emma Stone when they first read together. "It's not really a thing that is quantifiable," he said. "I knew she was a great actress and I was so excited about her as an actress. I was like, 'Oh, wow—we're moving together, we're able to improvise and riff. We're listening to each other, which is a wonderful wonderful thing.'"

Stone said, "It was a really fun audition."

As for their first onscreen kiss, Garfield said, "We have a big act to follow with that Tobey [Maguire] and Kirsten [Dunst] kiss. I just try not to think about it and gave it my all."

We've thought about it—and it works!
