Taylor Kitsch won't be Catching Fire.

The Battleship star, 31, insists he's not going to be playing Finnick in the second Hunger Games movie…

"Not going to happen," he told the Los Angeles Times via email about the possibility of him snagging the coveted role.

As you may remember, we told you earlier this week that Lionsgate was bouncing around the idea of casting Kitsch, Armie Hammer or Garrett Hedlund as the dreamy tribute.

We also reported that the studio is seriously considering taking a completely different route by going with an unknown.

Lionsgate does not comment on casting until they have official news to announce.

Kitsch is currently attached to reteam with his Battleship director Peter Berg for Lone Survivor, a Navy Seals action drama costarring Mark Wahlberg and Ben Foster.

With John Carter and Battleship's less-than-impressive receptions, fingers-crossed that Lone Survivor can keep Mr. Kitsch's star power afloat.
