Janet Jackson's field trip to a Montreal hospital was a brief one.

The R&B diva was rushed to Royal Victoria Hospital Monday after she "got suddenly ill during the sound check" prior to her scheduled concert in the city, her rep said.

According to Rebecca Burns, a spokeswoman for the hospital, the 42-year-old Grammy winner "was discharged after a few hours."

Burns declined to elaborate on the singer's condition, citing patient confidentiality rules. There has been no further comment from Jackson's camp on her ailment or whether she'll make up the Montreal show.

Jackson's next scheduled stop on her Rock Witchu trek is Oct. 13 in Toronto.
