Save One Show

E! Networks/Comcast Entertainment Group

The fans have spoken!

The final results are in for E! Online's 2012 Save One Show—the campaign that lets you fans pick the TV series you want to save from possible cancellation—and it was such a close race that the winner and runner-up were separated by less than four percent. Gotta love the passion of TV fans!

So who's the big winner?

Drumroll, please...

Community cast: Ken Jeong, Yvette Nicole Brown, Danny Pudi, Chevy Chase, Gillian Jacobs, Joel McHale and Jim Rash

Kevin Parry for PaleyFest

Cool, cool, cool!

We're pretty sure that's what Abed (Danny Pudi) would say to the news that NBC's Community won our Save One Show battle!

We just hunted down Joel McHale at E!'s upfront presentation in New York and broke the awesome news to him. "They say our show is a cult show but I believe our fans are actually in a cult," he tells us. "Without them we would not exist, literally. We are so grateful. Thank you, fans!"

After starting off with 20 endangered contenders (all network series that have not yet received a pickup for the 2012-13 season), you narrowed the list down to ten semifinalists before sending six series to the finals, including wildcard entry Cougar Town. Fringe was later removed from the running after being renewed for a fifth and final season by Fox. Awesome news no matter which universe you live in.

  1. Community 36.3%
  2. Body of Proof 32.7%
  3. Ringer 21.2%
  4. Nikita 8.6%
  5. Cougar Town 1.1%

ABC's Body of Proof came in a close second, losing by less than four percent, and we were blown away by the passion of the BOP fanbase...and so was star Dana Delany!

"Congratulations to Community and its fans for a good and fair win. What a wild race to the finish!" she tells us. "I truly hope that all the shows in the Save One Show poll make it to the fall schedule as they clearly have such impassioned followers. As for the Body of Proof fans who voted from all over the world, thank you. I am so proud of your consistent enthusiasm and kindness. Fingers crossed for season three!"

In case you think NBC will miss the memo about just how much its fans want it to stay on the air, we'll be announcing Community's win tomorrow on E! News for the whole world (and the Peacock network) to hear and recognize that your passionate and active involvement makes the show that much more worth saving!

So what do you think, NBC? Can we keep Community? The Human Beings of the TV world have spoken, and we sure hope you'll make them happy with a pickup for the 2012-13 season! Don't make us put on our evil felt goatees!

(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
