Eric Stonestreet isn't counting his piggys before they're hatched for a second time.

The Modern Family funnyman tells me he can't imagine he'll be reprising his role as Derek in season two of American Horror Story, but…

A man can dream, can't he?

"I would love to be with Jessica Lange," he told me at the recent Milk + Bookies event at L.A.'s Skirball Cultural Center. "My gosh—in so many different ways I would love to be with Jessica Lange."

As fans of Fox's hit twisted series know, Lange will be back on the show, as will Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe.

It's already been announced they'll be playing completely different characters. In other words, it is possible Stonestreet could make another appearance. "I don't know what [series creator] Ryan Murphy is going to do with it," he said. "His brain is so creative and so cool that I have no idea what direction he's going to go in."

Stonestreet will definitely be popping up at the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, DC on April 28. He'll be a guest of ABC as will costars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Sofia Vergara, among others.

The first family are big fans of Modern Family. "I don't know about the president himself because he's pretty busy but we do know that Michelle and the kids watch it," Stonestreet said. "I know for sure Malia is a big fan of Cam and Mitch."

The girl's got good taste.
