Robin Gibb has plenty to be thankful for this holiday weekend, and he's taken to his blog to let it be known.
In the wake of a recent hospital stay to deal with abdominal pain and an inflamed colon, the Bee Gees singer is acknowledging all those who've lent their support and assuring them that he is "on the road to recovery."
"I wish to thank my family, friends and the many thousands of people who do not know me but have enjoyed Bee Gees music and have wished me well," he writes, adding: "It is humbling and I take your prayers and good wishes for my health very seriously."
That's certainly understandable considering his twin brother Maurice Gibb died in 2003 following emergency abdominal surgery to repair a twisted intestine.
And while some tabloids have reported that Gibb has been diagnosed with liver cancer, those claims have yet to be confirmed. But whatever the case might be, the music icon is remaining positive nonetheless.
"I have been very unwell and am now on the road to recovery, and your prayers and wishes are a great tonic to me," Gibb insists. "I believe because of you I will get well and my deepest love goes out to you all."
