As Weezer fans know by now, the band's former bassist Mikey Welsh was found dead in a Chicago hotel this weekend from unexplained circumstances, though authorities have ruled out foul play.

But now it turns out he saw his demise coming.

In a frightening bit of foreshadowing, the 40-year-old rocker took to Twitter two weeks ago and related a premonition he had in which he foresaw...his own death.

"Dreamt i died in chicago next weekend (heart attack in my sleep). need to write my will today," Welsh tweeted on Sept. 26.

Employees at the Windy City's Rafaello Hotel found the musician's body on the floor of his hotel room Saturday afternoon after he failed to check out of his room.

An autopsy is being conducted and no cause of death has been officially announced. However, investigators with the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office suspect he may have died from a drug overdose. Toxicology tests won't be forthcoming for several weeks.

Welsh's tenure with Weezer was relatively short, from 1998 to 2001, but during one of their most popular periods, when they scored the hit "Hash Pipe."

He left the group after suffering a nervous breakdown due to heavy drug use, which ultimately led him to attempt suicide through overdose.

Welsh subsequently retired from music to pursue a second career as a painter.

No word yet whether he ever wrote that will.
