Poor, poor Kate Walsh. Could you imagine having to deal with Taye Diggs and Benjamin Bratt as your love interests? Our hearts sincerely go out to her. It's not like they're insanely attractive or anything.

If there's one thing we know about Shonda Rhimes, it's that she can create one hell of an addictive love triangle, which is exactly what's coming up on Private Practice with Addison Montgomery (Walsh), Sam Bennett (Diggs) and Jake Riley (Bratt.) And from what Walsh tells us, it sounds like it might get a little steamy. "I was in a scene with the both of them and I can't tell you what I was doing, but I was in a compromising position with one of them on each side." Yep, that's it. We're officially jealous.

Find out what else we learned about the new love triangle when we caught up with the actors on set...

"It's right where we left off," Diggs says of the season five premiere. "They literally pick up minutes after the finale, so Pete's, you know, all...craziness—we're trying to save his life."

Bratt adds, "Addison had been about to get on a plane and decided at the last minute to not get on, and not go with my character to Fiji because she recognized in the final moment that she is, in fact, in love with this man and likes her life."

Too bad this is TV where happy couples make for boring couples. Things become complicated when Addison wants a baby and goes to Jake, a fertility doctor, for help. Things get even more complicated when Sam and Jake's surprising history is revealed.

"We learn very early in the season that [Sam and Jake's friendship] was established some years ago in graduate school," Bratt reveals. "I work here—we actually become more friendly and become buddies."

Diggs adds that it's "kind of refreshing" that the two don't start out as "nemeses" (or "dueling alpha males," according to Bratt), but teases, "It may come to that."

"Addison is on the baby course this season and she might need some help from Dr. Riley, and I think that that's going to be explored. It's a really interesting dynamic and relationship—one that Addison certainly hasn't explored before, because it's this other kind of [doctor-patient] relationship," Walsh says.

"You've never seen her as a patient and I think that that's been really fun for me to play," she adds. "There's a different kind of intimacy that starts to develop. He's really in her corner."

Private Practice returns tonight at 10 on ABC.
