Madonna to Hydrangeas: Sorry for Hating You! (Or Maybe Not?)

Pop legend makes amends for insulting a fan who had the nerve to give her the poofy arrangement

Madonna sure has a funny way of apologizing.

After a video surfaced last week of the Material Girl dissing a fan who gave her the pom pom-like flowers during a press conference at the Venice Film Festival, Madonna issued a mea culpa—of sorts—a silent movie-cum-love letter begging forgiveness for her bitchiness.

So what did she have to say? Lets go to the video...

The clip, featuring the score from The Godfather, surfaced on the Twitter page of Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, who posted a link to YouTube.

The sepia-toned short finds the 53-year-old Queen of Pop caressing a bouquet of hydrangeas (six days after being caught on a hot mic saying she "loathes" the flora and prefers roses instead) and accompanied with the following text:

"Words cannot express how sorry I am. To think I may have caused you pain. My heart is going to burst with sadness. I need to know in time you may forgive me. If I could take back my words I would but I can't, so what am I left with?"

The melodrama is subsequently cut short by a record scratch. Looking at the camera and presumably the adoring fan whose heart she crushed, Madonna screams silently, then jumps up and throws the hydreangeas to the ground, stomping on them, before walking away.

"I'm left with the fact I still hate hydrangeas! And I will always hate them!" goes the text. "It's a free country! So f--k you I like roses!!"

Now that's expressing herself.

Now if Madonna really had a sense of humor, she might consider making a talkie to apologize for all the awful reviews W.E., her latest directorial effort, has been receiving.
