Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding may have cost a lot, but it also made loads of dough, too.

The do-gooding duo—who look gorgeous in this new official photo taken in honor of their trip to Canada—had set up the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund so well-wishers could make donations in lieu of wedding gifts.

And the public gave a lot.

How much exactly, and where will the profits go?

Wills and Kate raked in a total of $1.7 million, which includes donations to the fund along with proceeds earned from the wedding soundtrack and portrait.

The money will be divided among 26 different charities chosen by the newlyweds.

According to the royal wedding charity fund's official site, the causes the Duke and Duchess will be supporting include: changing lives through arts and sport; children fulfilling their potential; help and care at home; support for service personnel and their families; and conservation for future generations.

And the thoughtful pair aren't funnelling the money to U.K. charities alone. They're also donating to organizations in Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
