TBSI have to be honest with you: I'm a huge fan of Conan O'Brien. (Now, by fan, I mean I'm in love with him.)
He is smart, witty and knows how to interview. Other hosts make everything about themselves—Leno—but Conan always listens to his guests and lets them tell their story. I had the pleasure of working for The Late Show with O'Brien when I was an NBC Page at 30 Rockefeller Center, and it was always so much fun. Plus, I think he was one of the only men at NBC who was actually taller than me.
Now, I totally was on Team CoCo after all the NBC drama went down. I couldn't imagine finally achieving my professional dream, only to be bumped to the backseat six months later. But where do you go from there? Basic cable!
I was pretty impressed last night to see Conan jump out on stage and make light of his fate. He brought his show, his way. Dance moves, check. Fabulous hair, check. Funny monologue, check. And that Conan charisma we all missed, check!
Plus, working for cable can be really fun. It's not NBC Benjamins, but you do get to curse more! I promise!
