Who would want to take out Duckie? Not costar Charlie Sheen (he's got enough problems). And certainly not Jon Cryer's ex-wife.
The lawyer for the Two and a Half Men star's ex, Sarah Trigger, is denying the "outrageous" suggestion that her client was behind a death threat against Cryer that has reportedly triggered an FBI investigation.
"This is the father of her child and I think it's outrageous that these rumors are being spread," attorney Vicki Greene tells E! News.
"I can tell you that Sarah and I have not been contacted by the FBI," adds Greene. "I don't think she's involved at all."
Last Friday, producers were prompted to close the set of the CBS sitcom and tape without a studio due to an apparent death threat against Cryer.
Quoting unnamed sources, TMZ reported that the actor had told investigators he believed his former missus had hired a hitman to kill him. The Emmy winner and Trigger, a British-born actress went through an acrimonious divorce in 2004 and have continued to battle over custody of their 9-year-old son, Charlie Austin.
A rep for Cryer, who has been married to entertainment reporter Lisa Joyner since 2007, has not responded to calls seeking comment.
Trigger was arrested last May at her residence in Hermosa Beach, Calif., on suspicion of child abuse after police received a call from her current husband, from whom she's now separated. The call involved an injury sustained by their 2-year-old son (Charlie Austin was not at the residence at the time the alleged incident occurred).
No word on the status of that case.
Laura Eimiller, a spokeswoman for the FBI's Los Angeles field office, declined to comment on whether the feds were looking into the matter, per bureau policy.
