Oprah Taking a Day for Haiti; All-Star Telethon Lineup Expands

Wednesday's Oprah will focus on the cause; Coldplay, Rihanna, Keith Urban, Sheryl Crow, Dave Matthews, Jennifer Hudson onboard to perform

Hollywood's light continues to shine in the direction of Haiti.

MTV has announced that Bono and The Edge will be teaming up with Rihanna and, as our Marc Malkin reported, Jay-Z for a group performance in London, the latest locale added to the mix for Friday's Hope for Haiti: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief, airing Friday on more than a dozen TV networks, including E! and G4, as well as streaming across numerous online platforms.

Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey is taking charge of the cause tomorrow.

Oprah is devoting her entire Wednesday show to the ongoing situation in Haiti.

Her scheduled guests include Wyclef Jean, who was in his native country aiding relief efforts last week and will be giving a firsthand account of what he saw there—and further discussing the recently leveled accusation that he was misusing funds from his Yéle Haiti Foundation.

Maxwell and, before she jets to London, Rihanna are due to perform.

In L.A., where George Clooney will be heading up the broacast, Dave Matthews, Stevie Wonder, John Legend, and the trio stylings of Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock and Keith Urban have been added to the lineup, while Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige will be contributing their vocal services to the NYC end, where Jean is taking the lead.

Anderson Cooper will also be broadcasting live from Haiti during the two-hour event, which, according to MTV Networks, is going to be the most widely distributed telethon in history. More than 100 celebs have volunteered to give testimonials and man the phones.

But the effort does not stop there:

• Ricky Martin, whose foundation has teamed with Habitat for Humanity to contribute to both immediate and long-term rebuilding efforts, set off for the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince today to tour the area.

• Amy Grant and Jeff Foxworthy have stepped up their efforts on behalf of their longtime cause, Compassion International, which works to combat child poverty around the world and has 230 child development centers in Haiti.

• Ben Stiller, Paula Abdul and David Beckham are among the celebs who have contributed items to CharityBuzz's Heal Haiti auction. Abdul has offered up her signed copy of The Official Michael Jackson Opus, while Stiller gave two tickets to the Hollywood premiere of Little Fockers. Beckham bent in a pair of signed cleats.
