The 41-year-old former Diff'rent Strokes star was staying at the boutique Custom Hotel, doing publicity for his latest film, when he suddenly fell ill around 8 a.m.
The Los Angeles Fire Department tells E! News that an ambulance had responded to an emergency call and transported a man to a local hospital, though it could not identify that person, citing privacy laws.
However, the erstwhile child star's agent, Robert Malcolm, has confirmed that it was indeed Coleman but assured fans there was nothing to worry about.
Malcom says the actor, who has had two kidney transplants, was hospitalized as a precaution and should be released after some routine tests.
