Timing is everything.
While it's true not all reality shows are created equal (for every American Idol, there's a half-dozen Farmer Wants a Wifes), some are lucky enough to peg their fortunes to a famous face, a killer concept or simply debut in the right place at the right time.
Up until last Friday, DJ AM's Gone Too Far seemed to be one of the lucky ones.
The Intervention-style show was slated for an Oct. 5 premiere, though with toxicology results pending and overdose theories flying, MTV has yet to make a decision about whether it will still air the series as planned.

Paula Abdul confirmed this week that she had her sights set on her own talk show, telling TV Guide she'd "be Paula. It would be a lot of fun variety with a ton of unexpected stuff…" Like viewers?
And let's not forget (as if he would let us) Jon Gosselin's would-be side project, and we're not talking about Hailey Glassman. Suddenly, we're not so eager for the fall TV season to start, after all.
