Emmy Award statuette

Kristin Chenoweth is changing things up for the Emmys. A nominee for her work on Pushing Daisies, Chenoweth tells me she's not going to be doing all black like she did last year in Giorgio Armani.

"I'll just say it's extremely different for me and extremely different from last year," she said during a break from shooting You Again, a comedy flick with Kristen Bell, Jamie Lee Curtis, Sigourney Weaver and Betty White. "I usually go with black because i like blondes in dark, but..."

In other Emmys news, The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences previewed the Governors Ball the other day in Hollywood. The evening's expected highlights include...

The brightly colored "Sultan's Palace" decor was actually inspired by the bad economy. "One of the reasons we chose such a festive look is because of the recession," Governors Ball chair Cheryl Boone told us. "We wanted to keep things lively."

The menu, prepared for the 11th consecutive year by Patina Restaurant Group includes filet mignon, polenta ravioli, zucchini blossoms, and a creamy dessert by Dove Chocolate.

Back by popular demand after debuting last year is executive chef Alec Lestr's Mac 'n' Cheese gruyere with white wisconsin cheese and nutmeg.

The 360 mutli-colored table centerpieces by La Premier will later be doanted to nurses and patients at Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

And what's a party without some cocktails? Grey Goose will debut an orange-colored treat that tastes like a Creamsicle.
