Nicolas Cage is stepping back into one of his most beloved roles: fatherhood.

In January, the National Treasure actor, 58, announced that he was expecting his first child with his wife Riko Shibata, 27. Now, in a new interview with GQ, Cage revealed that the couple has already picked out names for their baby: Akira Francesco if it's a boy and Lennon Augie if it's a girl.

While it's not clear if the couple know the sex of their child, both of their name selections include a sweet, sentimental reference to members of Cage's family.

"Augie was my father's nickname," Cage explained, referring to his father August Coppola. "And my uncle has decided to change his name to Francesco." His uncle, of course, being director Francis Ford Coppola.

He also shared his excitement about becoming a father again, proudly showing off a two-month sonogram of the baby and remarking, "I think it's so sweet. It's like a little edamame. A little bean."

In addition to the new baby on the way, Cage is already father to two sons: Weston Coppola Cage, 31, from his relationship with actress Christina Fulton and Kal-El Coppola Cage, 16, who he shares with his ex-wife Alice Kim.

News of Cage and Shibata's growing family comes less than a year after they tied the knot in Las Vegas.

The ceremony, which was held at the Wynn hotel, saw the couple exchange "traditional Catholic and Shinto vows with poetry from Walt Whitman and Haiku sprinkled in," per a rep for the actor.

While chatting on his brother Marc Coppola's radio program in 2020, Cage explained that he initially hoped that he and Shibata would have a "really beautiful Shinto wedding" in Japan, but they had to shift their plans due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It also meant that his proposal had to be virtual, too. "She left New York and went back to Kyoto, Japan, and I went back to Nevada and I haven't seen her for six months," he said at the time. "We're really happy together and we're really excited to spend that time together so I finally just said, 'Look, I wanna marry you,' and we got engaged on FaceTime."

The actor ended up shipping a black diamond engagement ring to Shibata to prove his affections, adding, "I customized and personalized it and I actually sent it to her FedEx."
