Uma Thurman is a big tease.

The Kill Bill babe has made two New York appearances this week since her possible wedding to Arpad Busson in the Bahamas over the weekend. With calls to the actress' rep unreturned, it's been up to eagle-eyed reporters and photographers to scope out her left hand and attempt to draw a conclusion.

Both times, she wore a shimmering bauble on her ring finger.

Unfortunately, neither jewel would be classified as a wedding band, or even the reported 8-carat engagement ring the multimillionaire gave her when he proposed last June. Instead, the star wore a topaz piece to an event for Cookie magazine Monday, and a shiny, gold accoutrement to a press conference for the Tribeca Film Festival earlier today.

At the fest's kick off, the question-and-answer period was kept brief and, sadly, on topic. The actress did announce the jurors for the various competitive categories, many sparkling celebs among them, including herself, James Franco, Bradley Cooper, Meg Ryan, Mary-Kate Olsen and Debra Messing.

People kicked off the buzz about a Thurman-Busson union on the island of Eleuthura on Saturday, claiming the couple had obtained a marriage license and were prepared to swap vows. If they did, indeed, tie the knot, the honeymoon clearly was put on hold, given Thurman's commitments to the film festival.

This would be the third marriage for Thurman, following her divorces from Ethan Hawke and Gary Oldman.
