ABCKen Wahl has gone from Wiseguy to poor guy.
The erstwhile TV hunk, who played undercover FBI Agent Vinnie Teranova in the classic '80s crime series, is suing his former business manager for allegedly conspiring with Wahl's ex-wife to bilk him out of millions in earnings.
In a lawsuit filed Monday in Los Angeles Superior Court, Wahl claims his onetime accountant, Henry Levine, "entered into a secret business manager relationship with plaintiff's wife Corinne Wahl [nee Alphen]" to manipulate the ex-couple's 1991 divorce settlement in her favor.
As a result, Wahl transferred all their jointly held property to his former missus, including sprawling homes in Malibu and Boston, while he still paid the taxes on those properties.
Wahl also grated Levine power of attorney, according to the suit, ultimately allowing Levine and Alphen to set up a company "that enabled the secret skimming of funds" from Wahl's bank account.
Alphen also demanded $7,000 a month in child support for their son, and Wahl claims, he helped to bankroll her plastic surgeries, facials, lavish vacations and massages.
Wahl, a former Golden Globe winner, says that he suffered a serious spinal injury in a 1992 motorcycle crash that kept him from regular acting gigs and started a downward spiral into alcohol abuse. He wound up owing the IRS a whopping $250,000 in back taxes because, he says, of a complex tax shelter that Levine set up without the actor's knowledge.
The complaint also lists the Screen Actors Guild as a defendant for allegedly misappropriating thousands of dollars supposedly due to Wahl from the SAG pension fund.
All told, Wahl is seeking more than $3 million in damages along with enough to cover the outstanding tax bill.
