Kim Kardashian wants you to know she wasn't trying to monkey around with tragic current events. She was chimply trying to promote her show.

The reality royal recently posted photos of her family with pet chimpanzee Suzy on her website. Unfortunately, Kardashian's timing was lousy—55-year-old Charla Nash was critically injured after her 200-pound chimp, Travis, attacked her in Connecticut last week. Nash wound up in a hospital bed, while 14-year-old simian was shot and killed.

"I understand my timing was not appropriate and it was insensitive of me, so I want to explain," she writes on her blog.

She continues to tell fans that the photos were taken six months ago during the filming of the third season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians and she primately meant to give them a taste of what to expect when the show returned.

"Our family is praying for everyone involved in that traumatizing attack," she says. "In no way did I mean to insult or offend anyone by posting these pictures."
