Cristina Gibson is writing the Awful Truth for Ted Casablanca while he’s on vacation. Casablanca will return, probably bitchier than before he took off, on Dec. 5.

Do any of you awesome Awful-ites know what tomorrow is?

Yes, it's Friday, duh…but it's also World AIDS Day, and rapper-actor extraordinaire Ludacris took time out of his busy schedule to help raise awareness.

He hit the shoe store ALDO at L.A.'s Beverly Center to sign limited-edition ALDO Fights AIDS tote bags for fans Tuesday afternoon.

And I totally give props to the dude for stepping up for this worthy cause. But I can't help think about how often sex gets glamorized in songs (Luda's included—"What's Your Fantasy," anyone?).

I mean, peeps always sing and rap about doin' it, but not about doin' it safely. I asked Luda if he thinks artists adequately present the consequences of getting it on.

"When you see sex in movies and television shows, they don't do that either," he half-answered. "So, it's not fair for you to say that we should. You don't hear that anywhere."

Scarlett Johansson

I suppose he's sorta right. But I was still curious about whether he plans to change that in his own music anytime soon.

"I talk about sex a lot in my music, but by me being here, I'm letting you know that I have safe sex," he said. "Me being a part of it and trying to lead by example has a lot to do with this."

"Just get tested," he answered, when asked what people can do to help build awareness. "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem."

Other celebs have spoken up in support of testing, too, like Scarlett Johansson. "I get tested for HIV twice a year," she told Allure magazine. "It's part of being a decent human, to be tested for STDs. It's just disgusting behavior when people don't. It's so irresponsible."

Safe sex is hot, straight from the stars' mouths! So, get tested tomorrow, babes, before you get down and dirty.

Tori Spelling, Dean McDermott

Lester Cohen/

Okay, I'm steppin' off the soapbox now. Let's move on to some frolicking freeloaders, shall we? Tori Spelling was pretty damn funny at the American Music Awards, when she presented with Clay Aiken and reenacted the much talked about, hand-over-mouth move Clay did to Kelly Ripa when he was guest hosting Live with Regis and Kelly last week.

Afterward, Tori rewarded her comedic efforts when she hit the Talent Lounge with hub-unit Dean McDermott in tow.

They stopped by the Creative Nail Design table, where Dean picked up silver nail polish for himself. He's evidently "really into it" and wears it almost as much as Tori, who picked up a red bottle.

Jared Leto

I know rockers paint their nails sometimes, à la Jared Leto, but don't they usually opt for black? Dean looks like a pretty conservative guy to me.

Then Tori pulled a switch herself and requested loads of men's briefs from DKNY. Evidently, she said the undies will help her look sexy as her bump expands.

Sounds to moi like these two are just milking the swag suites for every last freebie they can get. Who knows? Maybe they really are as hard up as they claim to be.

Nicky Hilton, David Katzenberg

Chris Weeks/

Dropping beaucoup bucks elsewhere were Nicky Hilton and David Katzenberg, dining together at Bella in Tinseltown last Friday, along with Paris and Brit, who are, like, joined at the friggin' hip as of late.

Somethin' tells me Nicky's so over Kevin Connolly, because she and Davey have been spending a lot of quality time together. They hit up Teddy's the very next night and shared a table.

David used to date Mary-Kate Olsen, by the way.

There's obviously a huge shortage of eligible men in Tinseltown, because all the It girls recycle dudes like it's their duty.

Matt Leinart

Paul Fenton/

I mean, just last week Paris was seen working her feminine charms on Matt Leinart at Snoop Dogg's album release party at Area. They had a brief summer whatever-ya-call-it back when Matt was first drafted to the Arizona Cardinals.

I'm gonna advise Paris to pass on a second round with Matt, though. He just had a baby with ex-girlfriend Brynn Cameron.

Bet new BFF Brit would tell her to stay far away from boys with baby baggage!
