He might not be your ideal of the diaper-and-bottle type, but if Robert De Niro is known for anything, it's his range.

And so the role of Daddy probably doesn't throw the Oscar-winning actor. Good thing, too. Because he's been summoned for a command performance.

De Niro's new bride, former flight attendant Grace Hightower, gave birth to a baby boy Wednesday, today's New York Daily News reports.

It's the couple's first child, his fourth, overall. He has twins sons by ex-squeeze, the model Toukie Smith, and a daughter, adopted with ex-wife Diahnne Abbott.

Stork rumors swirled when De Niro, 54, and Hightower, in her early 40s, wed on the hush-hush last June--which, for those who take note of such things, was approximately nine months ago.

No word yet on where Baby De Niro was born. The bet here is: Not France.

The Cape Fear star made headlines last month by vowing to never return to the illustrious home of champagne and EuroDisney. This, after a judge there hauled him in for questioning in an international prostitution ring.

De Niro was the Raging Bull upon his release--charging that he'd "never paid for a woman in his life" and vowing to sue the jurist.
