Well, "just got" is a poor choice of words. Seems the star of TV's Cheers and the current film Wag the Dog got hitched to his longtime girlfriend, Laura Louie, back on January 11, his spokesman Simon Halls announced Wednesday.
The happy couple swapped vows in a private Costa Rican ceremony that featured their 4-year-old daughter, Deni Montana, acting as flower girl. (No word on just what kind of flowers those were or if they smoked them after the ceremony.) The couple's 16-month-old daughter, Zoe Giordano, was crashed out on a nearby hammock throughout the entire gig.
Harrelson, 35, and Louie, 32, have shared the same joint since 1990 and have known each other since 1987--that's when Louie began work as the off-beat actor's assistant.
According to Halls, someone at the ceremony asked Harrelson if his new wife would take his name. "Actually, now you can call me Woody Louie," the People vs. Larry Flynt star replied. We'll have to see if his movie credits will be modified.
Secure in his second marriage for nearly half a month, Harrelson has already beaten the expectations he had for his first union. He and first wife, Nancy Simon (daughter of playwright Neil Simon), wed in Tijuana in 1985 with the abnormal-to-everyone-who-doesn't-have-hemp-shoes plan of getting the marriage annulled the next day.
Because the paperwork hit a snag, however, they stayed married 10 whole months.
