Perhaps with a little help from the Big Guy, erstwhile Church Lady Dana Carvey is recovering from successful heart surgery.

The former Not-Ready-for-Primetime player and Wayne's World second banana went under the knife (or, more correctly, the balloon) two weeks ago for an angioplasty procedure. Carvey, 42, was admitted to Marin General Hospital outside of San Francisco back on September 25 to have a clogged artery cleared.

He spent two days in the hospital before returning to his Bay Area spread. "He seemed to do well," hospital spokeswoman Paula Avirett says. "He was very nice."

Best known for his Saturday Night Live turns as the God-fearing Church Lady and his uncanny impressions of Johnny Carson, George Bush and Ross Perot, Carvey has been laying low in Hollywood lately, ever since the cancellation of his sketch comedy Dana Carvey Show last year.
