O.J. TODAY: Gilbert Bustillos, dismissed from the Simpson jury this week, said he thinks that O.J. is guilty. ``He denied everything," Bustillos said on the Today Show. "It just didn't fit. SELF CONTROL: The TV industry released its new rating system for TV shows, to guide parents in controlling children's viewing. Ratings will be given by the networks and producers but monitored by a group of outsiders.

CENTERFOLD: NBC won the hot competition among the networks to cast MTV star Jenny McCarthy in a sitcom. She'll play a movie star's personal assistant in an untitled series to premiere in 1997.

TRUTH OR CONSEQUENCES: Jurors in Greensboro, North Carolina are deliberating on a libel suit filed by the Food Lion grocery chain against ABC News--the grocers accuse the newsies of staging scenes with rotten meat.

SNAKE OIL: A judge threw out a copyright-infringement suit by photographer Annie Leibovitz against Paramount Pictures over an ad for Naked Gun: TheFinal Insult 33-1/3 which posed Leslie Nielsen in the place of Demi Moore in a spoof of Leibowitz's famous photo of Moore, naked and pregnant, with a snake wrapped around her.

ANIMAL RIGHTIST: Retired French sex symbol Brigitte Bardot appeared in court in Paris on charges of inciting racial hatred for her comments critical about how Muslims in France slaughter sheep. She's a militant animal-rights activist these days.

AFTERMATH: Peter Hoffman, former president of Carolco, the major producer of action flicks that went bankrupt, was indicted for tax evasion.

SEATS AVAILABLE: United Artists Theater Circuit, one of the country's oldest and largest movie-theater chains, is up for sale after investing too much in multi-screen theaters, the Hollywood Reporter reveals.
