After four years of marriage, the country superstars announced their split on July 20, 2015. "This is not the future we envisioned," they said in the statement. "And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately."
In their joint divorce statement, the "Red River Blue" singers added, "We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues."
Blake was photographed for the first time post-split as he was leaving rehearsals for The Voice in West Hollywood July 22.
"Miranda and Blake have known this divorce been coming for some time now," a source told E! News after the breakup.
The singers met in 2005 at CMT's 100 Greatest Duets Concert, when Blake was still married to his first wife, Kaynette Gern. They did not begin dating until years later.
"Blake and Miranda just grew apart and really started not seeing eye-to-eye on some real life future plans with each other," a source said of the split.
"They grew apart," a source told E! News. "They spent so little time together it became hard to have a relationship."
"They had not been together for a while and were living separate lives," a source says of Blake and Miranda's decision to divorce. "They were just trying to find the right time to break the news to the public."
