Britneyspears.comTurns out, Britney Spears' upcoming tour is a going to be a kid-friendly one after all. Particularly for her kids.
A week after the pop star's premature proclamation that sons Sean Preston and Jayden James would be joining her for her North American road trip—and less than a week after Kevin Federline's attorney said otherwise—E! News has confirmed that a deal has, at last, been made for the Federtots to join their mother for Circus time.
Federline and Spears have hashed out a custody deal for their road tripping, which will more or less mirror the terms of their current arrangement.
K-Fed attorney Mark Kaplan tells E! that all necessary parties have signed off on the agreement, which will allow Spears to see Sean and Jayden on "pretty much the same schedule that she has now."
Spears will continue to have overnight rights to her boys three days and nights per week, with the caveat being that rather than having those visits transpire at her Los Angeles home, they will take place in one of three makeshift home bases which will be set up across the country and to which Spears will commute back to in between gigs.
In addition to L.A., Spears will be renting homes in New Jersey and New Orleans for the duration of the tour. Should he so wish, Federline has also received the green light to stay at the homes while Spears has custody in order to minimize travel and the potential uprooting of the boys.
"Kevin is working to make them accessible by going on various central locations in various areas of the country, and he is doing that because he wants her to be able to have the maximum positive environment around her to assure that the tour will be successful," Kaplan said.
As it happens, Federline will also be pocketing $5,000 a week in exchange for his tour-accommodating custody arrangement.
The kids will probably not be hanging out backstage anytime soon, however.
"I don't think the kids will be at venues," Kaplan said. "They will be available in her life when she is done with the rigors of performing."
The Circus Starring Britney Spears 2009 Tour, her first arena outing in five years, kicks off March 3 in New Orleans and runs through June. The Pussycat Dolls will serve as her opening act.
In other Britney news, a judge signed off Tuesday on her conservators' request to hire two more lawyers to fight the defamation lawsuit filed by former hanger-on Sam Lutfi.
Terry Boxer and Bonita Moore, the new additions to the Spears legal camp, will bill the popster an hourly rate of $550 and $385, respectively. (View the paperwork.)
