A homicidal postal worker? Yes, that's still scary. Blade Runner screenwriter Fancher makes his directing debut in this unsettling tale of a mild-mannered serial killer (played with scary equilibrium by Wilson). After meeting up with boozy drug addict Crow, Wilson hits the road to find the small-town joys of hearth, home and work. Getting a job at a local post office, our friendly psycho attracts the attentions of lonely colleague Garofalo, becomes a full-fledged mail carrier and breaks his own rule: Never kill in the town where you live.
Fancher shows us a world in which true evil is an ever-present possibility, lurking just below the sunny surface of any one of your friends and neighbors.
