It could be intimidating meeting the Queen of England!

But it sounds like things went very well for actor Max Brown when he met Elizabeth Hurley on the set of The Royals. Over the summer, Brown was cast on E!'s hit scripted series as Prince Robert, the son of Queen Helena (Hurley).

Prince Robert was presumed dead for most of the series, but on the season two finale we saw him washed up on a beach, meaning that Robert would be making a comeback during season three.

Since Robert is the son of Queen Helena, Brown has been filming a lot of scenes with Hurley, and Brown reveals that Hurley was "so welcoming" when he joined the cast.

"She's been fantastic, Elizabeth is such the professional," Brown tells E! News. "She's really the full mark of the series and she was so welcoming."

But, the 35-year-old actor admits he had to apologize to Hurley when he first met her.

He explains, "I apologized to Elizabeth when I met her because obviously if she had had me in real life she must have been about 14 or something which is hardly fair. But hopefully I play a bit younger on screen."

While joining a series during its third season could be intimidating, that wasn't the experience for Brown.

"Everyone kind of said to me that they felt that I was the Prince Robert they imagined in their mind, so that was a nice to hear," Brown explains.

After he was cast on the show, Brown reveals that he went back and watched the first two seasons in order to prepare and get in the mindset of Prince Robert.

"It was important that I'd seen what has been said about him," Brown explains. "And so much goes on while he's missing on that island and he has to kind of understand all of that and compress it and make it work in his own mind when he returns."
