Let's get something straight: Katy Perry is happily dating Orlando Bloom.

There was, however, a time long ago when the pop star made sweet music with John Mayer—it was 2013, actually, when K.P. was featured on John's single "Who You Love." They were also an on-again, off-again couple between 2012 and 2015, but that's neither here nor there.

The exes—along with John's other ex and Katy's alleged frenemy Taylor Swift—attended Drake's 30th birthday at Delilah Los Angeles this past weekend. This got us thinking: Would John consider a collaboration with Drizzy, or maybe even working with Katy again? Never say never...

"If the right song came around, you know," the Grammy winner told E! News Thursday at The Jazz Foundation's 15th annual "A Great Night in Harlem" event. "I look at great musicians—you write the right song, you send it to somebody, but I don't have anything in mind at the moment."

What's John's standard album style, though? Watch the clip above to see what he had to say about that.
